"... No, it is impossible; it is impossible to convey the life-sensation of any given epoch of one's existence - that which makes its truth, its meaning - its subtle and penetrating essence. It is impossible. We live, as we dream - alone..."

Joseph Conrad - from Heart of Darkness

This site is amazing. I am having my first thyroid surgery for cancer on June 4th. I will keep coming back here.

Hey Darlene, thanks for your great comment :) Best of luck in surgery and recovery! May it all go well!

I'm a thyroid cancer patient too. Your images are so raw and candid. I love your blog.

After my treatment I traveled around the U.S. meeting with total strangers who are all young adult cancer patients. We had hundreds of hours of conversations. I wrote a book about these experiences that was just published this spring - Everything Changes: The Insider's Guide to Cancer in Your 20s and 30s.

If you'd like check out my blog too. I can't wait to see more of your posts.

Be well,
